Driver killed in sports car collision with bus


MELAKA: A 26-year-old businessman was killed when his sports car collided with a stage bus travelling from the opposite direction along Jalan Krubong-Sungai Badau here.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit identified the victim as Chong Chee Tong, who was killed at the scene following the 8am crash yesterday.

He said the impact left the sports car severely damaged.

The 34-year-old bus driver sustained minor injuries.

There were no passengers on board at the time of the accident.

ACP Christopher said the businessman was heading towards Krubong Perdana here when he is believed to have lost control of the car.

The bus, which was en route to the Melaka Sentral bus terminal, was unable to avoid the collision.

ACP Christopher pointed out that the weather conditions were clear at the time of the accident.
