Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ahmad Abu Bakar said initial investigations found that the accident was believed to have occurred when the car, travelling from Melaka towards Segamat, Johor, lost control before veering into the opposite lane and colliding with a lorry coming from Tebong heading to Cheng.

"A 24-year-old rear passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Two other victims in the same car, namely the 23-year-old driver and a 24-year-old passenger, were pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Hospital Melaka on Monday (April 27)," he said in a statement.

Supt Ahmad said another passenger, a 23-year-old woman, is still receiving treatment at Hospital Melaka.

Meanwhile, the 59-year-old lorry driver and his 28-year-old attendant were also injured and are currently receiving treatment at Hospital Tampin.
