Home Ministry seeks Thailand's help to verify Sg Golok shooting suspect's citizenship, says Saifuddin

ALOR GAJAH: The Home Ministry will seek assistance from Thai authorities to verify the citizenship of a suspect involved in a Sungai Golok shooting, following indications that the man, in his 30s, holds dual citizenship, which Malaysia does not legally recognise.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the move follows a briefing from Kelantan police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat, emphasising that verification cannot be done unilaterally.
