School stabbing: Too early to confirm 'spurned lover' motive, say police

PETALING JAYA: Police are still in the midst of recording statements from students in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old female student at SMK Bandar Utama 4.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shamsudin Mamat said the process of recording the statements was still ongoing.

"We are still recording their statements.

"We will release further information once the process is concluded," he said when contacted on Tuesday (Oct 14).

He said the motive behind the attack has not been established.

"We are exploring various angles, including the possibility that the suspect was rejected by the victim.

"However, it is still too early to determine the exact motive behind the attack. Let us investigate the case thoroughly," he added.
