Thunderstorms expected in seven states until 3pm today


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds have been forecast for most parts of Malaysia, including Selangor and Penang.

In an advisory issued by the Meteorological Department at 1pm on Saturday (Sept 27), thunderstorms are expected over the entire state of Penang, the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Also affected are Kedah (Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak).

Other areas include Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang), Johor (Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru).

The advisory is until 3pm today.
