MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in several states until 9pm (Sept 21)


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 9pm on Sunday (Sept 21).

In a statement at 5.15pm on Sunday, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin); Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat); the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur; Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Kuala Pilah and Jempol) and Johor (Segamat, Kluang and Mersing).

It also warned of bad weather in Sarawak affecting areas in Kuching, Serian and Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya).

Areas affected in Sabah are the West Coast (Ranau); Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat (Kota Marudu and Pitas).
