FOUR Indian NGOs in Melaka held a peaceful rally and submitted a memorandum to the state government, urging for a proper place to carry out Hindu funeral rites, Makkal Osai reported.

Social activist Ulaganathan warned that they would hold a demonstration in Putrajaya if the state government fails to act, stressing funerals should not be held in unsuitable places.

> The daily also reported that a woman in India, who killed her stepdaughter by pushing her off the third floor of their house, was arrested, thanks to a neighbour who caught the incident on video.

When seven-year-old Janavi fell from her family home’s balcony in Kerala, it was first believed to be an accident, but a neighbour soon discovered that his CCTV had captured the woman’s actions.
