PETALING JAYA: Kuala Pilah PKR has denied claims that it is divided, dismissing allegations that some members intend to reject Pakatan Harapan candidates in Saturday's (Aug 1) Negri Sembilan state election.
Division chief Ismail Muhamad Nor described the allegations as slander by certain parties to confuse voters ahead of polling day.
He also condemned the display of banners purportedly suggesting that Kuala Pilah PKR members were split and did not support Pakatan candidates contesting the five state seats under the parliamentary constituency.
"We are confident in the party's election strategy and will continue mobilising our machinery to ensure victory for Pakatan candidates," he said in a statement on Friday (July 31).
Ismail claimed the banners, displayed alongside Pakatan campaign materials, reflected the opposition's desperation as it realised that support for the coalition was growing across all five state constituencies in Kuala Pilah.
He said Pakatan's grassroots campaign and Kuala Pilah PKR's efforts had successfully reached target groups by highlighting the coalition's manifesto and the achievements of the state administration over the past eight years.
He said the division remained committed to campaigning until the final hour to secure the maximum number of votes and ensure victories for Pakatan candidates in Seri Menanti, Juasseh, Pilah, Senaling and Johol.
