Dr Wee hails Chen-Toh's historic world title


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong congratulated mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, calling their historical win at the finals of the 2025 World Championships in Paris an inspiring moment and a gift for Malaysia on National Day.

"With grit, focus and teamwork, they defeated the world’s No. 2 pair, Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Ya Xin of China to bring home the world champion title.

"What an inspiring moment for the nation, and it is truly the best gift on Merdeka Day with this historic win!

"Malaysia is proud of you, Tang Jie and Ee Wei!," the MCA president posted on his Facebook page.

Earlier on Sunday (Aug 31), Chen and Toh defeated world No. 2 China’s Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Ya Xin in the final game of the championship.
