PETALING JAYA: A 28-year-old man believed to have suffered a sudden seizure while driving crashed into six parked vehicles along Jalan Midah 1, Cheras.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident occurred at about 8.30am on Wednesday (Aug 26) when the man was driving from his home to work in Taman Midah 1.
“Preliminary investigations found that the driver is believed to have suffered a sudden seizure, causing him to lose control of the vehicle before crashing into six vehicles parked on the left side of the road,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
The six parked vehicles belonged to five individuals and a company.
ACP Zamzuri said none of the parked vehicles had occupants at the time of the incident.
“No injuries were reported, and the crash only resulted in damage to the vehicles,” he said.
He added that initial checks found the driver had a history of seizures spanning about 10 years.
A breathalyser test conducted on the driver also returned a negative reading of 0mg/100ml.
The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1980 (LN 166/59), with investigations ongoing.
