Thunderstorms warning for 10 states, KL until 9pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms and heavy rain in 10 states and the federal capital until 9pm on Wednesday (Aug 26).

It said in a statement that the adverse weather is forecast to affect Perlis, as well as Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Yan, Pendang, Pokok Sena and Padang Terap in Kedah, and Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta and Perak Tengah in Perak.

Similar weather conditions are also forecast in Jeli, Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, Tumpat, Machang, Kota Bharu, Pasir Puteh, Bachok and Kuala Krai in Kelantan; Kuala Nerus, Setiu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Besut in Terengganu; Jelebu in Negri Sembilan; Jerantut, Raub, Temerloh, Bentong and Bera in Pahang and Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat in Selangor.

In Sarawak and Sabah, the affected areas are Kapit (Song), Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), Sarikei (Julau), Mukah (Matu, Dalat, Daro and Tanjung Manis), Kuching and Bintulu (Tatau), and the Interior (Tambunan and Pensiangan), West Coast (Ranau) and Sandakan (Telupid, Paitan and Labuk & Sugut). - Bernama
