PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a former Tabung Haji chairman and a former Treasury secretary-general, to assist investigations following issues raised in the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the pilgrimage fund.
The two men, both in their 60s, were arrested at about 4pm on Wednesday (Aug 26) when they arrived at the MACC headquarters here.
They are expected to be brought before the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for a remand application.
MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed the arrests when contacted.
The investigation follows issues highlighted in the RCI report involving Tabung Haji.
The MACC's Tiktok channel also highlighted the arrests.
