A MAN shocked residents in Phatthalung, Thailand, when he ran naked through the streets late at night to “fulfil” a promise he had made to a deity, Sin Chew Daily reported.
The 22-year-old, wearing only a pair of flip-flops, was spotted running around 11pm on Aug 25, before climbing over a wall to return home.
He told police that he had vowed if he ever found true love, he would run naked through the streets.
Although his wish has yet to come true, he said he decided to “fulfil the vow in advance”.
Neighbours, however, said the man had a history of erratic behaviour and believed he might be suffering from mental health issues.

Widely regarded as one of Miyazaki’s most celebrated works, Princess Mononoke, first released in 1997, explores the clash between nature and industry, as well as humanity and spirituality.
Its return to the big screen will give long-time fans the chance to relive the classic while introducing a new generation to the world of Studio Ghibli.
> The daily also reported that a 14-year-old boy in Changsha of China’s Hunan province was rushed to hospital after experiencing shortness of breath after the Internet connection lagged while he was playing games at night.
Doctors found that the boy had a reduced partial pressure of carbon dioxide and an elevated blood pH, a condition known as respiratory alkalosis.
His symptoms gradually eased after treatment.
