13th Malaysia Plan reflects commitment to uplift people and economy

KUALA LUMPUR: The 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) reflects the government’s commitment to uplifting the people and restructuring the economy, says the Backbenchers Club (BBC).

They said it also continues the efforts first introduced by the Madani administration two years ago.

“We believe this data-based approach to drafting policies is an important leap towards transparent and responsible governance,” it said in a statement on Thursday (July 31).

The statement was released after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tabled the 13MP in the Dewan Rakyat.

The BBC also expressed gratitude for the government’s commitment to addressing the disparity between urban and rural areas. It also praised efforts to ensure the benefits of development reach all layers of society.

“We will continue playing an effective role in ensuring the 13MP is implemented smoothly, alongside playing a check-and-balance role to ensure it does not drift from its original purpose,” they said.
