KUALA LUMPUR: The police are investigating alleged slander involving actress Alya Iman related to the breakdown of a celebrity marriage.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said the police received a report from the complainant at about 3.49 pm on Saturday (July 19).
"The issue, which linked the complainant to the breakdown of the marriage between celebrities Yusuf Bahrin and Zizi Kirana, has gone viral on social media.
"We have referred the case to the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for further action and to take down the social media post," he said when contacted on Sunday (July 20).
Previously, Alya Iman denied allegations that she was the main cause behind the breakdown of the marriage between Yusuf Bahrin and Zizi Kirana.
The 24-year-old actress said she was shocked to be accused of such things.
