Two motorcyclists killed, two hurt in illegal street race


SHAH ALAM: Two motorcyclists were killed and two others seriously injured in an accident at KM51.1 of the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) heading towards Pulau Carey on Wednesday (June 25) night.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Ramli Kasa said four males, aged between 15 and 25, were believed to be racing their motorcycles at high speed from the direction of Laguna Park, Pulau Indah, when a pile-up occurred at 11pm.

"Two of the motorcycles grazed each other, causing the riders to fall, before being struck from behind by the other two motorcycles.

"Two individuals aged 15 and 25 were confirmed dead at the scene while two others aged 24 and 15 were seriously injured and taken to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah in Klang for treatment,” he said in a statement on Thursday (June 26).

ACP Ramli said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and urged anyone with information to contact investigating officer Insp Mohd Khairul Nizam Abdul Talib at 03-33722222.
