SHAH ALAM: A total of 21 committee members of the Shah Alam PKR branch, including several women's wing leaders, have announced their immediate resignation from the party, Sinar Harian reports.
In a statement Monday (May 25), the group claimed the decision was made due to a loss of confidence in the party’s top leadership and branch chief Najwan Halimi, the Malay language daily reported.
"At branch level, we are disappointed with Najwan’s leadership, which we see as having failed to practise the principles of consultation and togetherness in decision-making," the statement said.
The group added that although they were elected through the party election, they were not consulted or involved in several key decisions.
These included political appointments and branch organisational matters.
They alleged that some decisions were made without any official discussion with the elected committee members.
This occurred despite consultative processes and respect for leadership mandates being provided for in the party constitution.

The statement included a list of the 21 names of the branch committee members and women's wing leaders involved in the mass resignation.
