MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in several states until 9pm (May 25)


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 9pm on Monday (May 25).

In a statement at 6.55pm on Monday, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Kedah (Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Perak (Larut, Matang and Selama and Hulu Perak); Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan and Pekan); and Kelantan.

It also warned of bad weather in Sarawak affecting Miri (Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang; and Sabah affecting the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan), West Coast (Ranau), Tawau and Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid, Kinabatangan and Sandakan).
