Teacher under investigation for alleged affair with married man

NIBONG TEBAL: A teacher who went viral for allegedly having an affair with a married man has been relieved of her official duties until the investigation is completed, says Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

"The teacher has been relieved from teaching duties but continues her role as a public servant while the investigation proceeds. We have ensured the investigation progresses without interference. The teacher needs to be involved in the process," she said.

Fadhlina spoke during a press conference after officiating a scholarship ceremony for STPM students organised by Farm Fresh Berhad at SMK Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah in Jawi on Tuesday (May 27).

She said the woman has been relieved of her teaching duties.

"We have relocated her from the school to ensure the investigation proceeds smoothly without disruption.

We want to reassure the public that the ministry views such matters seriously, as they relate to the integrity, morals, and ethics of teachers,” said Fadhlina.

"Whether it is an official report or becomes viral, we take it seriously and investigate these matters."
