MACC questions ex-CFO over RM370mil share purchase for fourth day

KUALA LUMPUR: Questioning has been completed after four days on a former chief financial officer (CFO) of a company owned by a statutory body in the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) investigation into the alleged abuse of power involving the purchase of shares in two plantation companies worth about RM370mil.

MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said they began recording the statement on Tuesday and concluded it on Friday (Aug 7).

"The session for the fourth day began at 9am and ended at 6.30pm. Today marks the final day of recording the statement of the former senior officer," he said.

The former CFO was detained on Tuesday (Aug 4) along with the chief executive officer of the same company on Friday. Both were released the same night due to health reasons.

The arrests and questioning were part of an investigation by a special task force set up to review and examine the findings of the RCI into Tabung Haji.

The RCI report was made public through the official portal of the Malaysia Islamic Development Department (Jakim) on July 29.
