No foul play in death of woman who fell from Penang mall car park

GEORGE TOWN: Police have ruled out foul play in the death of a woman who fell from the multi-storey car park at a shopping mall here.

Balik Pulau OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam said the woman was captured in a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage before falling to her death.

"No criminal element from the incident, the case has been classified as sudden death," he said when contacted.

On Saturday (May 3), the woman in her late 20s was found dead after she fell from the multi-storey car park.

The police were informed of the incident at 12.47pm by the public and the victim was believed to have fallen from the seventh floor of the parking lot, where she left her personal items in her car.

It is learnt that the victim left her home at around 9am on Saturday and her last contact with relatives was at noon.

The postmortem revealed that the woman's death was due to multiple injuries, consistent with a fall from that height.
