SOUTH Korean actor Kim Mu-yeol, the star of the Netflix hit Teach You a Lesson, once earned a mere annual income of 200,000 won (RM534), Sin Chew Daily reported.
He described the days before he found fame as one the most difficult times in his life.
Kim, 44, spoke about his early days during an appearance on a variety show, recounting his financial hardship.
Despite having debuted over 20 years ago and appearing in numerous productions, he said he had always struggled to achieve mainstream recognition.
But Kim said he never let a single opportunity slip by, holding onto hope of one day being noticed.
