KPKT launches paperless housing platform for B40 group

PETALING JAYA: The Local Government Development Ministry has launched a fully digital housing application platform for the B40 group to expedite the approval process for affordable homes.

The upgraded system, known as e-RMR, replaces manual paperwork with a paperless web-based platform to improve accuracy, efficiency, and delivery under the Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR) programme.

It was launched during the ministry’s Majlis MADANI Muhibah Aidilfitri 1446H celebration on Friday (April 18), attended by over 5,000 guests, including government officials, foreign diplomats, and media representatives.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming also handed over housing aid to six recipients under the Rumah Mesra Rakyat programme, the Urban Housing Repair Programme, and the New Urban Housing Construction Programme.

The event also marked the launch of PR1MA’s M-Niaga initiative, featuring 256 commercial units with a gross development value of RM160.15mil, designed to empower local communities and support small and medium businesses within PR1MA residential areas.

The units range from 689 to 5,803 square feet and feature flexible designs and practical layouts suited to various business types.

Priced from RM289,800, they will be developed in Selangor, Perak, Melaka, Kedah, Kelantan, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.

The initiative aims to create more vibrant and economically active neighbourhoods by offering business owners accessible, well-integrated commercial spaces within residential zones.

Nga said the open house served as a platform to celebrate goodwill and unity among civil servants, especially those serving in Putrajaya.
