Thunderstorm warning issued for five states and Putrajaya


KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected across several regions in Malaysia, with a warning in effect until 5pm on Thursday, (April 10).

In Pahang, the areas of Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Jerantut, Kuantan, and Rompin are on alert.

In Selangor, districts such as Hulu Langat and Sepang are expected to experience severe weather, along with WP Putrajaya.

The warning extends to Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.

In Johor, areas including Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are forecasted to be affected.

This warning is issued when thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are imminent or expected to persist for more than an hour.

These are short-term warnings, valid for no more than six hours from issuance.
