100 devotees begin their pilgrimage on foot to temple

SOME 100 devotees from Banting, Selangor, began their “paatha yatra” or pilgrimage on foot to the Maran Sri Marathandavar Temple, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The devotees are undertaking the journey in conjunction with the Pangguni Uthiram festival, set to be celebrated at a temple in Maran, Pahang, on April 11.

The pilgrimage, which is being undertaken for the 18th year, is organised by the Banting-Maran Paatha Yathra Association.

The journey began on Monday evening with special prayers at the Kuil Sri Maha Mariamman in Kelanang Baru.
