THE heartwarming story of a former nanny’s close relationship with the child she previously cared for is stealing the attention of social media users, reported Sinar Harian.
The viral video posted on TikTok showed a two-year-old child’s excitement at greeting his former nanny and her husband, known as Amma and Appa, when the families came together to break fast at Dataran Merdeka.
According to the child’s mother, Shaidatul Naqiyah Mohamad Abdullah, Amma took care of her son, Muhammad Adam Mikhael from when he was three months old until he was six months old. However, the families remained close years later.
“After that, I took care of Adam myself, but our relationship did not end there. When Adam was almost two years old, we met again.
“We have been bringing him to meet them and to even spend the night at their house since,” she said.
Shaidatul Naqiyah said her husband proposed the idea to invite Amma, whose real name is Banupiriya, and her husband Gunaseelan, to break their fast with them.
Over the years, Shaidatul Naqiyah has gotten questions about why she did not seek out a Malay nanny to care for Adam.
“I want to show that racial differences are not an obstacle to establishing close relationships,” she added.
She was surprised that her video went viral, adding that her only intention was to show that love knows no boundaries of race and religion.
> Singer Qadejah Aliff Syukri, 15, said media training from a young age has prepared her for her many interactions with the camera, reported Harian Metro.
As the daughter of entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman, she said her father has been the one to provide her with helpful tips on how to present herself to the media.
“He taught me from the beginning that you have to say the right thing, but also in a polite way,” she said.
Qadejah said her exposure to social media has also helped her feel more at ease in the face of media attention.
