Malaysia Fest 2026 to promote unique Malaysian agro-products in Singapore

SINGAPORE (Bernama): The upcoming Malaysia Fest (MF) 2026 will showcase unique Malaysian agro-products with strong potential to capture the Singapore market, said the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA).

FAMA senior director of the International Market Division Noorsham Ramly noted that the ninth edition of the festival, to be held from July 30 to Aug 2, is expected to generate interest among Singaporeans in distinctive Malaysian fruits with strong commercial potential.

"We want to introduce agro-products such as fruits that are rarely found even in Malaysia, with the hope that if there is strong demand, they can be further industrialised.

"These products may currently only be grown on a small scale or found growing wild in the forests," he told Bernama after the soft launch of MF 2026 on Friday.

Also present at the event was Malaysia’s High Commissioner-designate to Singapore, Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin.

According to Noorsham, MF 2026, which features 343 booths, is expected to garner over 180,000 visitors from various backgrounds and achieve a sales target of RM15 million during the four-day event.

"Every year, we set a target of RM15 million in direct sales, as we feel it is an achievable target, taking into account the success of the previous editions,” he noted.

Themed "Unveil the Wonders of Malaysia", MF 2026 will take place at Singapore Expo, organised by MegaXpress International Pte Ltd and supported by FAMA and Tourism Malaysia.

Among the selection of fresh fruits made available during the event are sweet lime, rock melon, pomelo, Lohan guava, Chokanan mango, Giant Sapodilla (ciku mega) and Cempedak King.

The festival will also showcase a selection of exotic delicacies and cultural performances that reflect the rich and unique cultural heritage of Malaysia's states. -- Bernama
