A SIMPLE gesture by Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (pic) has left his fiancee Bella Astillah deeply touched after she discovered he had been wearing the neckties she gifted him to every court appearance, Kosmo! reported.
Speaking during a TikTok live session, the actress and singer, whose full name is Dayang Ara Nabellah Awang Astillah, said she only realised the gesture after rewatching videos of Syed Saddiq attending court proceedings.
“Every time YB went to court, if you noticed, he wore a nice tie. I only realised recently that they were the ties I had given him. I really appreciate it,” she said.
Bella, 32, said she had not asked Syed Saddiq about it, but was surprised to learn he had been wearing them all this while.
On Monday, Syed Saddiq remained a free man after the Federal Court, in a two-one majority decision, upheld the Court of Appeal’s acquittal on four charges involving criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of property and money laundering.
> A man has shared the unique story behind his name, revealing that it was inspired by his late father’s car registration number “AQ 15”, Sinar Harian reported.
Muhamad Aqis Hakim Jasman, 37, said his father named him after the family’s car registration number when he was born.
He said the name remains one of his most meaningful memories of his late father.
In a Threads post, Aqis said the registration number had to be given up some 26 years ago after his father was declared bankrupt.
He said he was surprised to come across the same registration number on a vehicle at Wangsa Walk during Ramadan this year.
Aqis also shared a photo with his late father, Jasman Jaffar, and paid tribute to him.
“So this is my late papa, Haji Jasman. The man. The myth. The legend. Always there for me. I’ll see you on the other side, pa,” he wrote.
