DAP announces new CEC line-up, Gobind wins most votes

SHAH ALAM: DAP has announced its newly elected central executive committee (CEC) line-up.

Teresa Kok and Lim Hui Ying failed to make it into the party's 30-member Central Executive Committee (CEC).

Gobind Singh Deo once again emerged the biggest winner in the CEC polls, with a larger number of votes this time.

Gobind, who was the top winner in the 2022 CEC polls garnered 2,785 votes compared to 1,782 before.

Chong Chieng Jen was in second position with 2,631 votes compared to 16th position with 1,154 votes in 2022.

Others include Teo Nie Ching in third position with 2,585 votes compared to 1,071 in 2022.

Ng Suee Lim was in fourth position with 2,563 votes up from 10th position in 2022 with 1,279 votes.

DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke dropped to fifth position with 2,508 votes, compared to his third place finish with 1,625 votes in 2022.

The increase in the number of votes was mainly due to a more than 70% attendance this year.

Lim Guan Eng received 1,719 votes and dropped to 26th position, down eighth position in the previous polls with 1,311 votes.
