Significant changes for DAP planned, says Loke

PETALING JAYA: Institutional changes are planned for DAP by the party’s next national congress, says Anthony Loke.

The DAP secretary-general said that this will include changes to the election process of the central executive committee (CEC) members, requiring amendments to the DAP’s constitution.

The changes include selecting a parliamentary head only from non-cabinet party MPs and introducing new roles such as strategy director, policy director, and election director.

Loke also aims to make the party’s women's wing chief a permanent member of the CEC candidate selection committee.

He called for a new transparent candidate evaluation system for internal polls.

"I want to bring much-needed changes and reformation in the party," he said in his speech at DAP’s national congress on Sunday (March 16).
