PETALING JAYA: The three Era FM radio hosts, who were seen mocking the Hindu religion in a video clip, came to Batu Caves temple to seek forgiveness from the Indian community for their actions.
However, temple committee member Datuk N. Sivakumar said the three should face the consequences of their actions, which ridiculed the Hindu community.
In a video uploaded on Instagram, the DJs, Nabil Ahmad, Azad Jasmin and Radin Amir Affendy, were seen apologising to Sivakumar, who is also Malaysia Council of Hindu Temples and Hindu Associations president.
Nabil said that when the video clip was taken during an earlier event hosted by the radio station, the gathering shown in the clip was regarded as an internal matter.
“On our side, we are truly sorry,” he added.
However, Sivakumar was unmoved and said the actions of the three DJs were unforgivable as it mocked the religion.
“I am still angry as you all touched on religion. Apologising is not enough.
“The matter on which you had mocked cannot be forgiven. On humanitarian grounds, we accept your apology, but action must be taken against you that will send a clear message to all.
“This involves the public and this is a multiracial country,” added Sivakumar.
Earlier, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said that six people, including the three radio presenters, are being investigated over the viral video which showed them mocking the kavadi ritual.
