KUALA LUMPUR: Investigators will question the three Era FM DJs involved in a recent viral video in which they were seen to be mocking a Hindu ceremony.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said they are among six individuals who will have their statements recorded by the Bukit Aman CID Special Investigation Unit (USJT) at 11am on Wednesday (March 5).
"The other three are the Astro Audio director, a social media executive, and the radio station manager," he said when contacted on Wednesday.

A total of 44 police reports have been lodged regarding the issue, the IGP said.
It was reported that the police have opened investigations into a controversial video involving Era FM radio DJs, which allegedly mocked a religious ritual.
The IGP said six police reports have been lodged over the issue.

"Our investigation revealed the video has since been taken down by the radio station.
The video was viewed 95,400 times and was shared by 204 users," he said on Wednesday.
The case is classified under Section 298 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, he said.
Under Section 298 of the Penal Code, the accused could face up to a year of imprisonment or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

For Section 233 of the CMA, those convicted could face a fine not exceeding RM50,000 or a maximum of one year's imprisonment, or both, and shall also be liable to a further fine of RM1,000 for every day the offence continues after conviction.
"One of the reports was lodged by a 44-year-old engineer who saw the video on Facebook involving several individuals from the radio station making fun of the Hindu religion," he said.
He added that the DJs involved have since issued an official apology through the Era FM Facebook page.
