Man nabbed in Mambau for alleged indecent exposure

SEREMBAN: A 30-year-old male suspect has been arrested for allegedly exposing his genitals to a 75-year-old woman in Kampung Baru Mambau near here.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Yatim Osman said a police team detained the suspect in Mambau at 10am on Wednesday (Aug 12).

He said the arrest followed a police report lodged by the victim regarding the incident on July 31.

"The victim claimed she was watering her plants around 8.30am when a man on a motorcycle approached her and asked for some vegetables.

"After the victim gave him the vegetables, the suspect allegedly lowered his trousers and exposed himself before fleeing the scene," he said.

ACP Mohd Yatim said that upon questioning, the suspect confessed to the crime.

"We are now probing two other similar cases reported in the Mambau area, which share the same modus operandi targeting elderly women," he said.

ACP Mohd Yatim said the case was being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code for indecent exposure.

Police, he said, will apply for an order from the Magistrate's court on Thursday to remand the suspect.

He also urged members of the public who have information on the case or similar encounters to contact the nearest police station to help in investigations.
