JOHOR BARU: Two Indonesians were sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment by the Sessions Court for possessing over 12,000 litres of subsidised diesel without the necessary permits.
Hendrick Dwi Setyawan, 38, and Maulana Bachrudin, 28, pleaded guilty to the charge on Wednesday (Aug 12).
They were accused of possessing 12,789 litres of diesel in an unauthorised tank at a premises in Taman Mount Austin here on April 26.
They had failed to produce the required permits and documents issued by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry in order to store the diesel.
The pair were charged under Section 20(1) of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
Judge Che Wan Zaidi Che Wan Ibrahim sentenced them to 18 months’ imprisonment.
