PETALING JAYA: Several areas in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor were hit by flash floods following heavy rain and thunderstorms, with flooded roads causing congestion in parts of Damansara and Segambut on Saturday (Sept 26).
Among the affected areas were Damansara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), Segambut, Kajang, Bangi, Bandar Seri Putra and Bukit Mahkota, according to Suria Malaysia's Threads page.
Several roads in Damansara and Segambut were also inundated, causing traffic congestion, while the road from Bukit Mahkota towards Nilai 3 was also reported to be flooded.
At the same time, a video of a flash flood that took place at one of Universiti Malaya's main gates is also circulating on Threads.
As of press time, there has yet to be an unofficial statement by the authorities on whether the situation has improved or otherwise.
Last week in Kuala Lumpur, four flash flood incidents were reported following heavy rain in the afternoon, with two vehicles stranded and a house inundated.
The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said it received several emergency calls about the incidents before deploying teams from the Keramat, Jalan Tun Razak and Titiwangsa fire and rescue stations to the affected locations.
