A SECONDARY school in Bangi, Selangor, has withdrawn its ban on students taking Tamil subjects for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exam.
SMK Bandar Seri Putra reportedly prevented four Indian students from registering for the two Tamil subjects offered, namely Tamil language and Tamil literature.
The issue was brought to the attention of ex-teacher S. Uthayasooriyan, Makkal Osai reported.
Sungai Ramal assemblyman Mohd Shafie Ngah’s special officer, A. Sivakumar, along with Uthayasooriyan, met with the school principal to discuss the matter.
It was subsequently agreed that the students would be allowed to register for the subjects.

Vanitha Prakash Saam, 55, from Maharashtra, was pressured by her son Vikram Prakash Saam, to hand over the agricultural land she had inherited.
She refused for unknown reasons, which infuriated Vikram and led him to commit the crime.
