Haze: Serian records very unhealthy API reading at 4pm


KUALA LUMPUR: Serian in Sarawak recorded an Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in the very unhealthy category at 236 as of 4pm on Saturday (Sept 12).

According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System portal, four areas in Sarawak recorded unhealthy readings, namely Sri Aman (199), Samarahan (179), Kuching (174) and Sarikei (115).

In addition, 50 areas nationwide recorded moderate API readings, while another 12 areas recorded good readings.

API readings of between zero and 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, while 301 and above indicate hazardous air quality.- Bernama
