KAJANG: Two men fled from a police inspection here before their car crashed into two other vehicles, including a mobile patrol vehicle.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the incident occurred at about 3.25pm on Friday (Sept 11) along Jalan Semenyih, near the Kajang Prima traffic lights.
He said patrol personnel from the Kajang district police headquarters' Crime Prevention and Community Safety division attempted to stop the suspects' car and check their identification documents.
"However, the two men fled in the vehicle towards Kajang," he said in a statement on Saturday (Sept 12).
During the escape, the vehicle crashed into another vehicle before subsequently colliding with the police MPV.
"The collision damaged the front right door of the police vehicle.
"No members of the public or police personnel were injured in the incident," he added.
ACP Naazron said the police are now working to identify and track down the suspects, including obtaining closed-circuit television (CCTV) and dashcam footage as well as statements from witnesses.
"We are investigating under Section 186 of the Penal Code for voluntarily obstructing a public servant, namely police personnel, in the discharge of their public functions.
"We urge anyone with information on the incident to contact investigating officer Sjn Mohd Azlan Zulkiflee at 017-316 1138 or any nearby police station," he said.
