KUALA LUMPUR: Umno’s Blue Malaysia Agenda unveiled by party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will form part of Barisan Nasional’s manifesto for the 16th General Election (GE16), says Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir.
“Yes, definitely. It will be translated into Barisan’s manifesto,” he briefly said when asked about the matter.
Zambry, who is Barisan secretary-general, said this on the sidelines of the 2026 Umno Annual General Assembly on Saturday (Sept 12).
On Friday (Sept 11), Umno unveiled its Blue Malaysia Agenda, setting out its vision for the country's future as Malaysia heads towards 100 years of Merdeka.
Ahmad Zahid said the agenda would be pursued should Umno, Barisan and their political allies return to Putrajaya.
Meanwhile, Zambry said the initiatives outlined under the agenda were important in ensuring the country remained peaceful and stable while preparing to face emerging challenges.
“The geopolitical challenges that we know are present in an increasingly threatened and unstable world require careful planning to ensure that our country, Malaysia, remains peaceful and prosperous,” he said.
Zambry said the party should not allow itself to become embroiled solely in political disputes, but must also formulate comprehensive responses to the challenges ahead.
He said Umno and Barisan’s experience in governing the country was important in shaping its approach to the issues facing Malaysia.
“When we talk about politics, we must also think about the country. Do not forget that. That is what we have established and fought for all this while.
“There may be shortcomings and political issues, but what is most important is that this long-established party, which is 80 years old, needs to think ahead to ensure that Malaysia is taken care of and safeguarded in the context of peace and stability,” he said.
