MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in multiple states until 7pm on Jan 15


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) is warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 7pm on Wednesday (Jan 15).

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Kedah (Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Penang; Perak; Kelantan; Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu and Kemaman); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan and Rompin); Selangor; The federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya; Negri Sembilan (Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin) and Johor (Segamat, Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru).

Over in Sarawak, areas affected are Kuching; Serian; Samarahan (Simunjan); Sri Aman; Betong; Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong); Sibu (Sibu and Selangau); Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro and Mukah); Bintulu; Miri (Subis and Telang Usan) and Limbang

In Sabah, bad weather is expected in the West Coast (Papar, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud); Sandakan (Telupid, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat.
