PETALING JAYA: Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah is currently unwell after contracting Influenza A, says the Selangor Royal Office.
In a statement Saturday (Oct 31), Istana Alam Shah said that according to His Royal Highness' personal physicians Datuk Dr Anuar Onah and Datuk Dr Tan Hui Meng, symptomes of the infection were first detected on Friday (Oct 30) morning when Sultan Sharafuddin developed a high fever and experienced physical weakness.
"Based on their assessment, His Royal Highness may have contracted the infection while attending public events and interacting with members of the public, including in outdoor areas.
"Praise be to God, His Royal Highness’ condition is gradually improving, although he is still experiencing a fever. The attending physicians have therefore advised him to rest and refrain from attending any events for five to seven days to allow for a full recovery," the statement read.
Istana Alam Shah added that following this latest development, the Selangor State Honours Investiture Ceremony, scheduled for Sunday (Nov 1) has been postponed to Saturday (Nov 7).
"All parties concerned are requested to take note of the change of date. Their co-operation and attention are greatly appreciated.
"Let us pray that Allah SWT grants His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor a speedy recovery and blesses him with lasting health and well-being," the statement added.
