Eight arrested for series of office break-ins in Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight suspects have been arrested in connection with a series of office break-ins across the Klang Valley.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail stated on Wednesday that the arrests took place between Dec 17 and Dec 31.

This followed a break-in at an office in Kampung Baru, where RM90,000 in cash and other items were stolen, with the total estimated value of the stolen goods at around RM150,000.

The suspects, comprising seven men and one woman aged between 17 and 41, were apprehended within the Klang Valley area.

"Checks showed that seven suspects had prior police records, with each having between two and 24 previous offences for criminal and narcotic activities, and one suspect was wanted," he said.

Their modus operandi involved targeting premises during the early hours and vehicles parked outside homes.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were involved in four office break-ins and vehicle thefts within the Klang Valley over the past three months.

Five of the suspects have been released, while the remaining three have been remanded until Jan 6.
