Johor floods: 425 victims evacuated to nine relief centres


JOHOR BARU: A total of 425 people from 127 families have been relocated to nine temporary relief centres (PPS) due to the flood.

The Johor disaster management committee said as of 8am on Saturday (Nov 30), only two districts in the state are affected by the floods, namely Segamat and Tangkak.

“There are 302 flood victims from 91 families that are currently placed at three PPS in Tangkak.

“While in Segamat, the number of evacuees is 123 people from 36 families that are being placed at six PPS,” the committee said in a statement.

The highest number of flood victims are from Kampung Parit Bengkok in Bukit Kepong, Tangkak, with 167 people from 50 families.
