Man admits to killing ‘overbearing’ aunt and hiding body

IPOH: The woman whose decomposing body was found inside the room of a house here on Sunday is believed to have been killed by her nephew because he felt she was “overbearing”.

Acting Perak police chief Deputy Comm Zulkafli Sariaat said the woman’s 21-year-old nephew, who is believed to have lost his patience with her, attacked her before keeping her body in the room.

“They had been staying together. The suspect lost his patience, got angry and punched the woman repeatedly until she fell down a flight of stairs.

“Thinking she was just unconscious, he then put the woman’s body inside a room.

“The suspect has already confessed to the offence,” he told a press conference here yesterday.

The victim, 54, was found dead by the police in a room of a house at Taman Puteri Lindungan Bintang, Pasir Putih, on Sunday after receiving a call at about 8.30am.

DCP Zulkafli said the victim’s body is believed to have been decomposing in the room for four days.

“The victim’s brother had looked for her, but was told by the suspect that she had locked herself inside the room.

“The woman’s brother had smelled a foul odour and called the police,” he said, adding that the suspect would be remanded for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
