Man caught on video littering fined by Ipoh City Council

IPOH: The individual caught on video discarding garbage bags by the roadside here has been issued a compound notice.

A spokesman from the Ipoh City Council said enforcement officers located the individual and explained the offence to him.

"The individual confessed to the offence.

"He had previously cut grass and put it in a black plastic bag, but it was not picked up by the garbage collection lorry," the spokesman said in a statement on Monday (April 6).

"He also did not know the location or the correct method of disposal.

"Our officers provided further explanation regarding the correct procedures and methods for the disposal and collection of garden waste," the spokesman said.

"We've also carried out cleaning work in the area," the spokesman added.

A video has gone viral on social media, purportedly showing a man discarding plastic bags to the side of the road at Taman Ipoh Timur near Bercham.
