Eight areas in Peninsular Malaysia record unhealthy API as at 10am


KUALA LUMPUR: Eight areas recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at unhealthy levels as of 10am on Thursday (Oct 1), according to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal.

Three areas in Selangor recorded unhealthy API levels: Johan Setia (156), Shah Alam (153), and Klang (151).

In Negeri Sembilan, areas recording unhealthy API readings were Nilai (152), Port Dickson (119), and Seremban (105).

Putrajaya (152) and Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (122) also recorded unhealthy API levels.

Meanwhile, 53 areas recorded API readings at a moderate level, and seven areas were at a good level.

API readings of 0 to 50 indicate good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and readings exceeding 300 are considered hazardous.
