Budget 2025: Home Ministry to get RM19.5bil, including RM2.2bil for specialised assets, says PM


KUALA LUMPUR: The Home Ministry received RM19.5bil in allocations under Budget 2025, which is an increase of RM500mil from this yeas.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, while tabling Budget 2025 on Friday (Oct 18), that more than RM2.2bil would be allocated to acquire specialised assets for the police and other agencies under the ministry.

"It is to ensure internal security through integrated efforts to curb the rise in criminal cases as well as preventing those who try to jeopardise unity among the people.

"Several new police stations will also be built next year, costing RM2.1bil, including the Pahang state police contingent headquarters, Petaling Jaya district police headquarters and Wangsa Maju district police headquarters," he said in tabling Budget 2025 on Friday (Oct 18).

Anwar stressed the issue at the South China Sea must be solved at the negotiation table.

"We remain firm in our stand that this issue can be overcome peacefully, but it does not mean we will tolerate matters concerning the nation's rights and sovereignty.

"Maritime assets will be increased and undergo maintenance. It encompasses new acquisitions under the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

"The ships are six vessels under the Ship Life Extension Programme, a multi-purpose mission ship, two new generation patrol vessels," he said.
