Explore the possibilities at Sunway University’s Open Day

Open day attendees can engage with lecturers, current students and alumni to gain a better understanding of academic life and what the university experience entails.

CHOOSING where to pursue tertiary education can be overwhelming, with countless universities and courses to consider.

One of the best ways to find the right fit is by attending university open days, where attendees can explore the campus, meet academic advisors and student representatives, and get a firsthand feel for campus life.

Sunway University, ranked the No.1 private university in South-East Asia by AppliedHE, is hosting two open days this month – one at its Bandar Sunway campus and another in Johor – where visitors can explore the university’s diverse range of globally recognised programmes across the arts and sciences.

Prospective students can take advantage of the one-to-one counselling sessions and academic talks held on the day to gain a clearer understanding of the programmes that align with their interests.

They will have the opportunity to meet lecturers, current students and alumni to gain insights into academic life and the overall university experience.

Visitors can also learn more about the scholarships and financial aid available to help fund their studies.

New offerings

The university is continuously enhancing its academic offerings to keep pace with evolving industry needs.

This is reflected in Sunway University's recognition as Malaysia's No.1 university for graduate employability, according to Talentbank's 2026 National Graduate Employability Index.

In today’s digital world, expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) is a skill increasingly being sought after by employers.

To meet this growing demand, the university has introduced AI programmes spanning undergraduate to postgraduate levels.

Backed by state-of-the-art AI laboratories and high performance computing facilities, the university's complete AI pathway includes the Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Artificial Intelligence and Master in Artificial Intelligence.

Another newly launched programme, the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Food Innovation, is designed for aspiring food professionals. It combines food technology, culinary arts, entrepreneurship, sustainability and AI to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for the global food industry.

The university is also introducing the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Architecture, a programme centred on future-focused design led by Sunway University School of Architecture and Design department head Prof Veronica Ng, who is one of the country’s leading architectural educators and a respected voice in the field of sustainable design.

Delivered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, it offers students a well-rounded interdisciplinary education.

Flagship programmes

Aside from its new offerings, the university's flagship programmes remain at the heart of its academic portfolio, including the American Degree Transfer Program (ADTP).

The programme offers students a flexible route to transfer to leading universities in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and many more.

Students with a flair for numbers can explore the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Accounting and Finance or the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Actuarial Studies.

The accounting and finance degree combines technical knowledge, sustainability and digital-era skills with practical experience through two internships and industry exposure.

Meanwhile, the actuarial studies degree combines mathematics, statistics, finance and risk management, equipping students with the analytical skills needed for careers within the field.

To learn more, attend the open day at Sunway Hotel Big Box, Johor on Aug 15 or visit the university’s Main Campus in Bandar Sunway, Selangor on Aug 22.
