THERE’S no stopping Malaysia’s ‘Queen of Rock’ Ella (pic) even as she approaches her 60s, Sinar Ahad reported.

The agile singer has continued to stay fit by taking part in athletic activities.

“I am always worried about not having enough preparation or rehearsal before any performance, so prior to any concert or performance, I would fill my time with rehearsals and physical activities – besides getting enough sleep and rest as well as consuming vitamins and lots of water,” she said.

When asked if she was concerned about the possibility that she would not be as popular in the future, Ella said every blessing comes from God.

“These blessings given to every individual are already written, so there is no need to think too much about it,” she said.

Ella, whose full name is Nor Zila Aminuddin, is scheduled to hold a concert in Jakarta in January next year.

> Known as a heritage food because it is loved by all races, budu has gone global with the fermented sauce landing in faraway places such as Australia, Mingguan Malaysia reported.

“Our budu ships to Melbourne three times a year. It is also sold wholesale in Thailand,” said Mohamad Izuan, who is one of the seven children of the late founder of Budu Cap Ketereh in Kelantan.

He said the label, which was established 45 years ago, produces one million bottles each month.

Budu is produced from fresh ikan bilis that is fermented in salt for six months in a large urn.

Mohamad Izuan, 38, said his father had also introduced budu in tubes to avoid spillage or broken bottles.

An expert from Universiti Sains Malaysia Specialist Hospital warned however that budu should only be consumed in limited amounts due to its high salt content.

“Budu is said to help enhance the taste of food, which can cause people to eat in excess and risk weight gain,” said senior dietitian Nor Elyana Awang.
