MALAYSIAN singer Gary Chaw (pic) has invested in the newly established KL Titans basketball club and revealed that he turned to the sport to help him cope with the pain of his divorce in 2022, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The 46-year-old Sabahan said he was invited by a few friends to found the club.
“Many of my friends in the entertainment industry know that over the past few years, I have not been doing well in terms of my family and personal life.
“I suffered from depression and anxiety disorder.
“I was able to overcome all these because of basketball,” he said.
He said he played a lot of basketball during that period to help him get over his divorce from Taiwanese fashion blogger Wu Shuling, to whom he was married for 14 years and with whom he has two children.
Chaw said he hopes to write a special song for KL Titans one day and establish a celebrity basketball team to play in tournaments in Malaysia.
He will spend a few more days in Malaysia before returning to Taiwan and for a concert tour in China.
> Taiwanese former supermodel and actress Lin Chi-ling has resigned as a director from the board of the Taiwan Creative Content Agency, China Press reported.
The 51-year-old said in a press statement on Thursday that, after careful consideration, she had decided not to accept the position.
“The responsibility that comes with this position is much greater than I had imagined.
“I am grateful for their recognition.
“I had initially accepted the invitation in the hope of contributing to Taiwan’s cultural industry, but as discussions continued to swirl, I decided not to take up the position,” she said.
She said she would continue to focus on issues such as culture, children’s healthcare and education, women’s welfare and children’s mental health in the future.
Lin’s announcement came nine days after her appointment.
